In my last over 10 years of tracking IT trends and technology improvements around the globe, computing models have evolved a long way, from our reliance on the humble personal computer (PC) in the home or office where we used simple applications like Microsoft Word, Excel & Access (more earlier Wordstar or Lotus 123 or Dbase) to digest, process and disseminate information, to the current computing models like service-based computing or cloud computing or grid computing.
Man has always been a social animal, always fulfilling our various needs through networking and socializing with other beings. Although we have been self sufficient to fulfill our basic needs, we have become more efficient by relying on other resources to execute and fulfill our many desires and wants. This thought process has inspired and aided in our advancement of computing in the way we distribute, delegate and disseminate information to one another in order to fulfill our goals and needs.
